The wine region
One of the most prolific white wine producing regions in Spain, Rueda is located southwest of Ribera del Duero. Known primarily for its excellent value-to-quality wines, it also has began to explore newer styles.
Local gastronomy
There is a wide range of quality agricultural products available in this region. The vegetables, such as asparagus, leeks and carrots; rich pulses: chickpeas from Alaejos and brown lentils, are fundamental in the cuisine. Qualities meat such as suckling lamb and partridge are also prime ingredients. As for the desserts, try the various honey products and exquisite homemade sweets. The pure sheep’s milk cheese, such as Villalón cheese, and mature cheeses, as well as the Lechuguino bread, are unmistakeable and bear the mark of excellence.
