Take a two hour boat ride along the Ria de Arousa to see what daily life is like for the fishermen or shellfish gatherers, depending on the season. We will sail past the famous ‘bateas’ (floating oyster farms) and as we make our way down the river we will find different kinds of boats and people fishing for squid, razor clams, sea bass, hake, clams and crabs, each with their specific fishing gear.
During the cruise we will enjoy a special picnic lunch, tasting some gourmet seafood preserves and an empanada gallega with an excellent Albariño wine.
After the cruise choose between visiting one of the following Pazos:
- One of them has a marvelous garden that has won the prestigious International Garden of Excellence by the Camellia Society. The grapes are grown in a historic garden with a large variety of plants, some 4500 camellias of 800 different varieties. The vineyards are filled with magical spots and buildings that are over 600 years old. It is a Pazo to discover and enjoy, and then we’ll finish the visit at the winery where you can sample their delicious wines.
- The other Pazo is also a palace where winemaking has been one of its key features as far back as the 17th century, working exclusively with a unique variety of Albariño grape. One of its wines was rated as best Spanish white wine by the Spanish wine experts of Guia Peñín in 2015. You will have the chance to taste several of the wines made with this delicious variety.
