On this route you will discover the Triana district on foot, a neighborhood of sailors and ceramic workers, the authentic Seville! And at the end of the tour, take a boat ride along the Guadalquivir River.
Some of the highlights of this tour are:
- The Tower of Gold (“Torre del Oro”). One of the oldest monuments from the Moorish city, its construction dates back to the 13th century.
- The Bullring (“Plaza de Toros”). We will walk around this “cathedral of bullfighting”, one of the oldest in Spain. The statue of Carmen, “the cigar girl”, the Gypsy from the Tobacco Factory immortalized in the Opera by Bizet, tells us her dramatic story in front of the square.
- The Inquisition Castle (“Castillo de la Inquisición”). This is undoubtedly part of one of the darkest parts of Spanish history. We will visit the interesting museum and the remains of the Castle of San Jorge. Built on its ruins is one of the best and most lively markets in Seville.
- Discover the Triana district where ceramic makers and artists live, and you will see some of the most traditional workshops, whose craftsmen and women continue painting their works by hand. Walls, balconies and windows are decorated with the colorful ceramic that reminds us of the city’s Arab past.
- Boat ride along the Guadalquivir River. This is an electric, ecological and luxurious ride, with a maximum of just 11 people. Noiselessly and smoothly gliding between the two banks, to the north we see the modern Seville and the bridges for the Universal Expo of 1992, and to the south we find the San Telmo Palace and the Iberian-American Expo of 1929. The Guadalquivir is waiting to welcome you!
